BOARDS & DIPS
Built for a table that isn't in a hurry to leave. Meant for sharing, and for lingering.

A tavern at the edge of Big Tupper Lake, with the Raquette River, Simon Pond,
Mount Morris, and the High Peaks arranged in front of it like someone planned it.
Nobody did. We just put the chairs in the right place.

“The finest view in
the Adirondack Park.
This one comes with
a chair and a drink.”
The valley opens all at once here: water below, Mount Morris holding the horizon, the High Peaks going blue behind it. Then the sun drops across the lake, the water turns to copper, and the last of the light climbs the peaks until they're the only thing left lit. It happens every evening. It still stops the room.
Hikers, riders, and boaters have been pulling in here since 1948, and snowmobilers still come in off the trail with the cold on them. The name on the door hasn't changed, and neither has the reason people come. Years ago, an artist left a drawing on the outside wall. It came down and went everywhere else: the glass, the menu, the shirt on your bartender's back.

We took our time with everything around that. The light is right, the music is on point, and the chairs were chosen by people who intended to sit in them for a while. If you knew the place, it'll feel like coming home. If you didn't, it will anyway.
View LocationThe kitchen turns out plates that have no business being this far up Route 30. The back shelf holds bottles you've heard of and a few you haven't. And every guest gets looked after like we're expecting them back, because we are.

ON-SITE. ROOM FOR THE TRUCK, BIKE, AND BOAT TRAILER.
Questions, larger tables, and evenings you'd rather keep to yourselves.
